Nobi Talai is a vision of lavish dressmaking and textiles. The Berlin-based designer passionately created a Fall Winter 2016 Collection consisting oversized silhouettes, geometric designs and free-spirited forms.
An abundance of capes, turtlenecks and sheer wide-leg pants established the effortless attitude for the season. Married to a color palate of deep purples, blacks and burnt oranges, these minor details offered bold statements to this emerging brand’s aesthetic. In this recent collection, Nobi Talai mastered the art of layering and subdued style all on the foundation of classic shapes. The movement of Talaei’s designs summoned a softness to the occasional menswear looks — a collared blouse was layered over a turtleneck, cropped trousers and button-down jackets. An elegant touch was the final look; a pleated leather skirt and full-length pale pink cape completed the collection. Perhaps it was the simplistic styling of single gold-hooped earrings or the solid black leather ankle boots assisted the imagination. What ever it was, such craftsmanship elicited a buzz around the potential of design within the minimalism movement.
