It seems that no one can contour and define the body quite like David Koma can. The London-based designer’s Spring/Summer 2017 show opened up with an eye-catching, silver studded skirt and a black off-the-shoulder blouse detailed with oversized bubble sleeves, which later made an appearance on other pieces as well. As proven with past collections, Koma is no stranger to unique embellishments. The collection stayed true to an overall black and white theme, with pops of electric green and light brown here and there. Shirts and dresses featured exaggerated button loops, most of them worn open. Many pieces were designed with sheer or netted fabric that showed off just the right amount of skin. One of the last dresses to make its way down the runway was a standout, a black sleeveless number embellished with silver beading in a netted pattern. While most of Koma’s designs embraced the body, they were perfectly balanced and offset with large sleeves or flared bottoms.
