Devon Halfnight Leflufy’s Spring 2017 presentation during New York Fashion Week: Men’s was marked with innovation and the abstract. Incorporating playful photo collaging this season, the designer revealed an elaborate line of printed silk shirts, sheer oversized tees and for the women, several notably printed dresses. Straps and scarves were also printed and interspersed as accessories or details, in one case contrasting the metal buckles as fastenings on a gray checked wool coat. Equal parts tailored silhouettes, inventive fabrication and a bit of bondage, this season pushed boundaries for the Canadian designer, emerged last season as one of the breakout stars of Fall/Winter 2016. And now, as NYFW:M celebrates its third season running, it seems not much has changed.
