Deveaux changed their show location at the last minute, and it’s a good thing they did. Clothes this good deserve to be seen, and in the best light. From an enclosed glass rooftop at Spring Studios the sun glistened off of a grey suede utility jacket. A short-sleeved wrap cardigan in olive silk followed. A hand-knit cobblestone sweater in cotton twine, after that. The kind of pinpointed luxury you wouldn’t expect to find from a brand only two seasons in.
Enchanted by the Greek island vacations of Jackie Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn, and the paintings of William De Kooning, the collection was a lesson in glorious leisure. Soft leathers and linens; sunset orange and Santorini blues.
Models glided down the runway. Buildings in the distance. The rays illuminating everything.
