Tech Luxe: MCM x Christopher Raeburn Spring/Summer 2017

Men, Fashion, Runway

Christopher Raeburn teamed up with German leather goods brand, MCM, for a Spring/Summer 2017 unisex collection determined to perfect the modern traveler’s on-the-go wardrobe. What they managed to produce was a remarkable collaboration between the two names, combining Raeburn’s eye for innovative textiles and MCM’s devotion to quality: Familiar shapes — bombers, parkas, shorts and ponchos — were enlisted along a spectrum of beautifully choreographed color choices and camouflage patterns. Of course, it wouldn’t be a complete Christopher Raeburn collection without a few technical details and innovative fabrics; this time being a dirt-repelling and UV-blocking stretch fabric and a nylon made of recycled bottles produced by Spanish firm Ecoalf. And while dense quilting may have been one of the more familiar techniques this season, the collaborative team showed exceptional prowess when it came to the bags, built using a modular system that allowed auxiliary pouches to be added and removed at will.
