The Canadian sister act (made up of Chloe and Parris Gordon) stepped outside for their Spring offerings. Inspired by the gardens of Roberto Burlo Marx, the duo looked to sumptuous florals and hazy humidity for their inspiration. The duo, who have become known for their angular lines and take on contemporary nostalgia, stepped out of their comfort zone for their Spring/Summer 2017 line, shown at New York Fashion Week. Flirtatious ruffles held center stage – with incarnations including over-the-top (but surprisingly un-costume-y) shirts and more subtle silken frocks. Taking their nostalgic flared silhouettes of the last season one step further, the duo’s spring offerings saw fishnet turtlenecks with bell sleeves, informed takes on classic two-piece suiting (opting for off the shoulder cuts), and billowing statement jackets. Last season’s offerings saw a spotlight on wools and knits, but this season the duo ventured further into their conceit, diving into a selection of tweeds, denims, and silks. The denim was a completely new step for the duo – taking the classic Americana fabric and transforming it languid dresses and flighty jeans.
